Most Common and Over-Used Christian Behaviors

My favorite Top 10 most common and over-used examples of Christian mentality:

1. "It's against my freedom of religion to tell me I can't say, 'Merry Christmas'. Don't you dare say 'Happy Holidays!' I don't care what your religion is!"

2. "I'm being persecuted for my beliefs because people don't like it when I tell them they are going to hell for not believing the same as me."

3. "There's a war on Christmas! They want to take away my lights! (pagan origin) They want to take away my tree! (pagan origin) They want to take away my celebration of the birth of my Lord! (pagan origin - birth of the Sun God in Rome circa 12/25 pre-Christianity) They won't let us celebrate Christmas the way it was intended! (Christianity condemning pagans to death for doing exactly what Christians do now to celebrate Christmas)"

4. "This is a free country! If you don't agree with me, you can leave!"

5. "Christians are the only people persecuted in this country!" followed by "Atheists are going to hell!" .. "Pagans are going to hell!" ... "Buddhists are going to hell!" ... "Gay people are going to hell and should be shot!" ... "You're a sinner because you don't believe the things I believe!" ... "If you don't believe in Jesus Christ, you're a devil worshipper!" ... "The people who don't like Christmas are Satan worshippers and are going to hell!" .... "Agnostics are just lost souls that are going to hell if they don't find the Lord!"

6. "Abortion is a sin! Save all the unborn babies!" followed by a deafening silence when those children are born into poverty and abuse.

7. "Israel is the promised land! I support Israel! It's sad, though, that Jews are going to hell for not accepting Jesus as their lord and savior."

8. General Christians: "Catholics aren't REAL Christians because they have too many weird pagan-type practices! They're going to hell!" .... Catholics: "If a Christian isn't Catholic, they are going to hell because they aren't worshiping God the right way!"

9. "Love thy neighbor .. unless they do anything the bible teaches against, then it is our right to judge and condemn and cast the first stone."

10. "Everyone in this country has freedom of speech except Christians! Boycott anyone who doesn't like us telling them they are sinners and going to hell! Boycott anyone who tells us we don't have a right to bully others for not believing what we believe!"

Christianity 101 (because Christians don't know what's in their own holy book):

1 John 4:19-21
We love because he first loved us. If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.

Philippians 2:3-4
Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.

1 Corinthians 13:13
So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

1 John 4:11
Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

1 Corinthians 13:1
If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.

Micah 6:8
He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?

Proverbs 10:12
Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all offenses.

Matthew 22:39
And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

1 John 4:18
There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.

- Nowhere in the bible does it EVER say, "If someone doesn't believe as you or agree with your faith, chastise them, condemn them, hate them, bully them, make them suffer in the name of God."
