Our Bad Habit Of Accepting Apathy

I don't have anything against anyone for their success. I don't think for one minute that capitalism is bad. Hel, it built every successful country in the world, including making the US the leader in indispensable inventions. What I will never accept from success as an unfortunate by-product is the apathy riding in its pocket.

Any intelligent person knows socialism is wrong and communism is wrong, but for many people today who desire it, they are attempting only to make up for the compassion capitalism is sorely lacking.

How can anyone justify earning millions of dollars for hitting a ball? For pretending to be a robot? Hundreds of thousands for dictating laws to people he, himself, does not follow? How can anyone justify paying those wages for hitting a ball, for pretending to be a robot, for demanding humbleness from his throne?

More importantly: How can anyone justify earning and paying millions-to-billions of dollars for such things while good people around the globe are dying of malnutrition and homelessness?

People in our own 1st World Countries are dying of neglect, hunger, curable illnesses they can't afford to treat. Their children are going to bed hungry, going to school in hand-me-downs that barely fit, shoes that don't keep out the cold, books that are 10 years old, supplies borrowed or bought at thrift stores. Our economy is suffering, we have a $17 Trillion debt, people who want desperately to work can't find jobs and live on food stamps to barely get by.

And then these same downtrodden who Lady Liberty swore an oath to shelter and protect open a paper and see multi-million dollar celebrities hailed as heroes because they scored a goal, music stars being glorified in billion dollar galas for singing about getting high and killing, and politicians declaring the poor have to tighten their purse strings while they, themselves, are raking in $200,000 salaries that they will still receive after leaving office in addition to allowances and extra-curricular benefits.

This is about the time in history when the palace had been breached and royalty would become dethroned and beheaded.

We are a twisted and corrupt world infested with spoiled brats sacrificing their neighbors for a paper god. And we freely,  happily worship them for it while struggling from paycheck to paycheck.

Kings stop being gods when the peasants refuse to worship them ....
